Who we are

AOK Landscaping is a lawn care business created by two friends, Alex Lopez and Owen Kammerer. Both of us play soccer at the varsity level for Sycamore High School as rising juniors and play club soccer outside of the high school season. We also have one employee, Owen’s younger brother Julian Kammerer. Listed below is each of our individual stories.

Hi AOK Landscaping customers, my name is Owen Kammerer. My life story starts in the small city of Orangeburg, South Carolina where I was born on January 29th, 2009 and lived for two and a half years before moving to Columbia, South Carolina after my father got a new job opportunity. I spent the next twelve years of my life there where I made many lifelong friends and started my soccer journey. I started my academic career at McGregor Presbyterian for pre-schooling. For kindergarten and first grade I attended Ballentine Elementary School. For second through fifth grade I became a part of the Escolares program at Harbison West Elementary School to ensure that I was getting the best possible education. I continued with the Escolares program in sixth grade at Irmo Middle School. I then switched schools again to Dutch Fork Middle School so I could reunite with my friends from the neighborhood and soccer. As far as my soccer career is concerned, I started playing rec soccer as soon as it was available, which happened to be when I was three years old. I continued to play at my local YMCA until I was eight, which is when I switched to playing club soccer for South Carolina United. I became captain of my team and for the U13 and U14 seasons I competed in the ECNL league and qualified for the ECNL playoffs in each of these seasons. Unfortunately my team was never able to make it out of the group stage. During my eighth grade year, I also played JV soccer for Dutch Fork High School, where I was proud to be the top goal scorer and top assister on the team. After eighth grade, my father’s boss retired, so we were forced to move to Cincinnati for my father’s new job.

In Cincinnati I have attended Sycamore High School for two years and made many new friends. Since moving to Cincinnati I have made the Sycamore High School Varsity soccer team both my Freshman and Sophomore years. I was Sycamore High School’s top assister during each of these seasons and was recognized as Second Team All-GMC my Freshman year and First Team All-GMC and First Team All-District for my performances during my Sophomore season. Since moving to Cincinnati I have also played club soccer for the 2009 Cincinnati United Premier (CUP) Gold team. I have once again been captain of my team and was able to lead my team to back to back National Academy League (NAL) championships. Next year my club team will be competing in the MLS Next league, so unfortunately I will be be unable to play high school soccer, but will still make sure to support my old team.

While soccer is certainly an important part of my life, I also take academics extremely seriously. I have managed to maintain a 4.40 GPA and score a 1410 on the PSAT. I also have received a 5 on the AP European History and AP Statistics tests. I also am proud to be a member of the winning team of the annual Sycamore High School sophomore debate. I also am currently employed by soccer village. Between the combination of my elite academics and soccer performance I feel that the hard-work, leadership, and dedication that I have showcased will be necessary for landscaping and running a successful business.

Hi, I’m Alex Lopez, one of the co-owners of AOK landscaping. I started this lawn care business because I enjoy working outdoors and take pride in doing a job right. Whether it’s mowing, trimming, or yard clean-ups, I’m focused on providing reliable, high-quality service that helps people keep their outdoor spaces looking their best.

I’ve lived in Cincinnati, OH most of my life, but I also spent three years in Nashville, TN, which helped me grow a deep appreciation for different communities. Back here in Cincinnati, I’ve gotten even more connected with the people and neighborhoods around me. When I’m not working, I stay active, I play for my high school soccer team, at Sycamore High School, which has taught me discipline, teamwork, and commitment.

During the summer, I also work as a camp counselor at Kids First Sports Center, where I help guide and mentor younger kids through fun and active programs. That experience has helped me develop strong communication skills, patience, and a strong work ethic, qualities I carry into every job I do.

My goal with AOK Landscaping is simple: to deliver honest, dependable service and to treat every lawn like it’s my own. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and help keep your yard in great shape, all season long.
